Kim Sae Rom made an appearance on QTV’s “Women That Rank” and made a controversial statement against Park Hyo Joo, earning the criticisms of netizens.
On October 3rd, the show held a survey asking which female celebrity panelists thought would embarrass the country once they went overseas.
While ranking the ladies, Kim Sae Rom made a statement towards Park Hyo Joo stating, “I think she’s dumber than we think. She often uses a lot of English in her daily speech, but people like that never really know how to say a word of English once they actually go overseas.”
Kim Sae Rom continued by stating, “She’d probably even write down ‘once or twice a month’ when her immigration forms ask for her sex.”
Although she was joking, Park Hyo Joo and the MCs alike couldn’t help but be taken aback by her statement. Park Hyo Joo retorted, “I’m good at English,” while the MCs were at a loss for words with Lee Hwi Jae stating, “I don’t know what to tell you,” while shaking his head.
Viewers that saw the broadcast also claimed that her statements were absolutely inappropriate. Many comments criticizing Kim Sae Rom were left, stating, “Although Park Hyo Joo handled it well, Kim Sae Rom’s statements were out of line,” and “Kim Sae Rom always makes jokes that go too far.”
The show was also met with a similar controversy in July when VJ Mira stated towards Yang Mira, “You seem like you have a body that a lot of men have touched.”
