Alright, back to the news.
The ninth annual Women's Film Festival in Seoul.
Again this year, the event offered filmgoers and critics a chance to see an extensive selection of films produced by women filmmakers around the world.
Son Heekyung reports.

A film festival that brought women directors from near and far has just concluded with the screening of the closing films.
Directors and movie fans filled a theater in Seoul for the closing ceremony.
The festival's tradition is to close out the event by showing the winners of the Asian short film & video competition section.
The Korean films "Seung-a" and "You Will Know" and the Turkish movie "Housekeeper" all won earning them a cash prize of around five-thousand dollars each.
All three films portray women's struggle in life as a single mother, part-time teacher and maid.

"Over the years, we've helped raise understanding of women's issues and will continue to do so".

One hundred movies from nearly 30 countries were screened in seven sections, and more than 40-thousand people took part.

"What stood out this year were works by new directors. The festival's organizers say they wanted to provide an opportunity for newcomers to promote their movies. Most of the films screened shared a common subject, a mother and daughter relationship".

The festival seeks to raise awareness of the plight of women around the world.
This year's event also dealt with women as a minority in society.
Eleven films were about migrant women living and working under the currents of globalization.
In addition, hard-to-see films like dramatic features to Korean documentaries were also screened.

"We sold close to 90 percent of all the tickets this year. Aside from watching films, moviegoers had the chance to attend seminars and international symposiums to discuss obstacles women face in life".

The festival also had concerts blending rock, jazz and funk.
But organizers are already planning big things for next year's event which will mark the festival's 10th anniversary.
