The Korean pop culture wave of "Hallyu" is continuing in Europe in the form of various Korea-related exhibitions and film festivals.
The Korea Foundation says that an exhibition of Korean traditional paintings opened at a public Asian museum in Greece on April 1 and will continue through the end of August. A total of twenty-six pieces of Joseon era paintings held by the Korea University Museum will go on display there.
In Finland, an exhibition on Korean housing also opened at its national culture museum last week to last through the end of the year.
The Belgian International Film Festival (April 2-17) has meanwhile invited a good number of Korean films for screening, including "The Host", "Vampire Cop Ricky", the animated film "Aachi And Ssipak" and the horror flick "A.P.T"
At Lasara Castle and Geneva in Switzerland, a Korean cultural festival will open Thursday (April 12-22), organized by the Beobgye Buddhist temple near Lausanne and a local ethnic Korean association.
A host of Korean films will also feature at the 18th international film festival in the Turkish capital of Ankara opening Friday. The list includes "Apple" by Kang I-gwan, "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK", "Memories of Murder", "Woman on the Beach" and "Oasis".
