Kim Nam Gil, 'Now is the most chaotic time for Bi-dam'

"Who are you? Why Mi-shil always take care of you?" asked King Yeong Jong to Bi-dam. This is one scene from MBC drama "Queen Seon Deok" aired on 20 October. 



He is Bi-dam, the lost son of Mi-shil. Even King Yeong Jong can't believe what happened in front of his eyes. 



"As my character was designed Mi-shil and Moon-no plan to kill me. Now I am very curious about my future acting in this character," said Kim Nam Gil who plays the role of Bi-dam. 



"Now is the most chaotic time for Bi-dam" said Kim Nam Gil "He still has feelings for Deok-man and he also finds out about his mom Mi-shil who abandoned him when he was young. He is very upset about his mom and also doesn't know what to do in the fight between Deok-man and Mi-shil." 



Therefore Kim Nam Gil feels so difficult about acting this character because Bi-dam has so many feelings to deal with. 





First appearing in the drama with nothing in his life, Bi-dam changes a lot after he knows about he has blood from royal family. Plus he loves Princess Doek-man which stimulates his ambition to become King of the country and get married with Deok-man. 



"I know Bi-dam has his own ambition but he loves Deok-man before he finds out he is a member of royal family. No matter what happens I want to keep that point very much," said Kim Nam Gil.





In the 48th episode airing next month Bi-dam will witness the death of Mi-shil. After that he will become what kind of power toward Princess Deok-man is still a secret. 



"Real history and historical drama is different. I hope audiences can understand the character of Bi-dam in our drama," said Kim Nam Gil.

i am not really an avid fan of korean drama but the historical story of Queen Seon Deok was put me into mind blowing and heart melted emotion..,i cant imagine how i was hooked with the characters of the cast..i am enjoying watching it everynyt but when i learned how tragic the ending of the story it was hard for me to accept.i learned to love it!..it is indeed a very good drama,it maybe tragic ending but still i couldn't ask for any.had i been the writer ''love conquers all'' would be ruled in the end!

The drama is just very terrific, extremely intriguin! Kim Nam Gil's actin is just excellent, witty, clever, cunning role is acted so well by him though the role is very complicated cuz Bi Dam's actions r unpredictable. Facial expressions, moves are super. Love this drama very much... Good luck:)

Kim Nam Gil’s versatility with regards to acting is extremely unique. His character as Bidam in Queen Seon Deok only proves what a truly talented actor he is. He can do comedy, drama, romantic scenes, and action superbly well. His Bidam character in Queen Seon Deok caught my attention and eventually made me a big fan of his. I now learn to appreciate and admire Korean TV series and movies mainly because of him. I hope he will have time to visit the Philippines.

H! ^_^ ahh.. i hope you can read this. i'm a new fan of yours. i saw ''Queen Seon Deok'' in GMA TV shows. although it's still episode 16 here in the philippines.. i watched it in advance, can't wait for next to come (Wink). that's how i got to see you. i like the way you act. it's cool. it got me confused in some parts.. i can't tell when you're going to be evil or good in that episode, but i really enjoyed it. i hope for your more success to come.. and have fun. :)

At first, i really can't uderstand Bidam's character for it posses so much emotion but i apreciate how talented Kim Nam Gil in portraying such difficult character. The way he can be a good guy then turn into a bad one, how he smile's like a child or when you look to that cruelty in his eyes. I hadn't thought that Doekman will have feelings for him but i like the way the story turned, from Yushin who serves Doekman but can no longer share his love for her to Bidam who is the son of Mishil but is truly devoted to her. I had trouble sleeping when i finally watched the final episode..so sad that they didn't even had the chance to talk..but i belive in what the other character said before Bidam killed him, that they have been trusting Bidam but he is the one who doesn't..that's why he's trust in Doekman was easily crashed. Oh i just couldn't help crying that night..How can history be so cruel?!

Bidam's role practically held the meat of the drama since he was the unpredictable stone that would crush the most powerful icon, Mishil. Because he was the son of Mishil, one would think his blood would emerge as the sole factor which would allow him to defend his kin. But even with the son instinct, his love for Deokman still reigned victorious till the end...the ending was too tragic for me to accept. had I been the writer, i could have justified the notion that ''love conquers all'' by allowing the two to share their love in their last moments...too sad ending...

The DVD copy I bought of Queen Seondok didn't have good English translation especially towards the end part so I felt so dumbed not to understand the dialogue. However, I really felt the emotion, Bidam's love for Deokman and the impossibility of their union. I, myself, got so invovlved in the drama and could feel Bidam's chaotic struggle, his crises and his angst...It was a superb performance, Kim Nam Gil - Jana from the Philippines
